After Breakfast, You will go to Anuradhapura, this was the capital of Sri Lanka from the 5th Century B.C.to the end of the 10th Century A.D. The city boasts about its dagobas. Ruvanveliseya built in the 2nd Century B.C. and is 300 ft in diameter, the Jetawanarama is 370 ft and one of the biggest structure in the ancient time. Thuparama Dagoba is preserved with the collarbone of the Buddha. The city’s most renowned relic is the sacred Bo Tree, which is said to have grown from a branch of the tree under which the Buddha gained Enlightenment. It was planted 2250 years ago and is the oldest historically tree in the world. Anuradhapura is a “UNESCO World Heritage Site”. You may also visit Lovamahapaya, Abhayagiriya, Twin Ponds, Samadhi Buddha statue if time permits.

After Breakfast, You will visit to The second ancient of Sri Lanka’s kingdoms, Polonnaruwa was first declared the capital city by King Vijayabahu I, The city of Polonnaruwa was also called as Jananathamangalam during the short Chola reign. The real Polonnaruwa Hero of the history books is actually his grandson, Parakramabahu I. It was his reign that is considered the Golden Age of Polonnaruwa, when trade and agriculture flourished under the guidance of the King, who was firm that no drop of water falling from the heavens was to be wasted, and each to be used toward the development of the land. The irrigation systems are far superior than compared to the Anuradhapura era. The greatest of these systems is the Parakrama Samudraya or the Sea of Parakrama. Today
the ancient city of Polonnaruwa remains one of the best planned Archeological relic sites in the country, standing testimony to the discipline and greatness of the Kingdom’s first rulers and this has been declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Visit Polonnaruwa the second capital of Sri Lanka from 1017 A.D to 1235 A.D. Polonnaruwa is also a UNESCO world heritage city. You will be able to see the ruins of Royal Palace king Parakramabahu, Audience Hall, the statue of king Parakramabahu, Watadage, the Galpotha, Parakrama Samudraya (Sea of Parakrama) which was built by King Parakramabahu I, covers an area of 5940 acres and the elegant Lotus pond was built in 12th century. Later will climb the Lions Rock in Sigiriya, a UNESCO world heritage site embellishing a fortress on its peak. A essential visit for anyone visiting Sri Lanka. After breakfast, visit the Dambulla Cave Temples. (5 caves) dating from 1st C.B.C to 18th C.A.D. These Temples contains the largest painted surface of 21,000 sq. feet of Buddhist murals, large number of Buddha statues (more than 150), statues of Gods and Kings in the caves. Then proceed to Ibbankatuwa (3 miles away) a “Megalithic” Burial site, spread in an area of more than 10 acres. See more than 10 graves excavated and conserved. Dambulla Cave Temple was built by King Walagambahu during the 1st Century B.C. Dambulla is a UENESCO world heritage site. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding and the paintings are done on the ceiling. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues 3 statues of Sri Lankan kings and 4 statues of god and goddess.
Later you will transfer to Kandy which is the historic kingdom in Sri Lanka and is renowned for the Temple of the Tooth, home to a respected Buddha relic. Enroute you will visit the Spice Garden Matale. Evening you will see a unique Sri Lankan cultural Dance and also visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of Buddha.

Kandy | Colombo City Tour | Departure
After breakfast, you will transfer to Colombo City to explore the Colombo city tour, Colombo like many capital cities in developing countries is fast changing its face. Almost overnight, skyscrapers arise from where old buildings once stood. Yet, in some parts, the old world charm is retained. For example, there is a 100-year-old clock tower and several British built colonial buildings. which was the last capital of Sinhala Kings. The valley of Kandy is surrounded by magnificent hills which made it as the last bastion. Today Kandy offers its visitors a rich collection of art and craft and historical buildings. It includes a collection of ancient temples buildings, handicrafts, souvenirs, bazaar and gem museum. During the evening you will drive to Peradeniya to visit the Royal Botanical
Gardens, which are renowned worldwide for their collection of orchids and 4,000 species of plants, many of them medicinal, and the attached National Herbarium of Sri Lanka. Later Kamvelta travels will drop you from the airport with the continuous smile had throughout the Journey.
